He holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Computer Science and received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2009 from the University of Crete, Heraklion, Greece. His expertise, specialization and research lies in the wider scientific domain of wireless communication networks and computational medicine and in particular on wireless telecommunication networks and theory,  internet of medical things, and biomedical informatics and engineering.
