On October 2011, I defended my Ph.D. thesis, conducted in the Multimedia Informatics Lab at University of Crete. The subject of my thesis was feature extraction from multidimensional representations - such as auditory and modulation spectra - of audio signals for pattern analysis and classification tasks (pdf). The thesis was supervised by
Professor Yannis Stylianou. This work was funded by the Research Committee, University of Crete and the Institute of Computer Science.
On February 2005, I received an MSc degree
at the Department of Computer Science at University of Crete.
The master thesis was conducted in the Computational Biology Lab of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
Before attending the postgraduate program in Crete, I was working as a research assistant at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics (IACM) between 1995 and 2001.
I graduated in 1992 from the Department of Physics at University of Athens. I received a MSc degree in the same Department in 1996. The MSc thesis was conducted in the Underwater Acoustics group of IACM under the supervision of Professor Michael Taroudakis.
