About
Dr. Panagiotis Lionakis is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, University of Crete, and a Digital Innovation Consultant at PRAXI Network (Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas, FORTH). He also serves as a National Contact Point (NCP) for the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) under Horizon Europe. He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Crete, as well as a Master’s in Business Economics (MBE). His interdisciplinary background bridges computer science, innovation management, and digital transformation, enabling him to connect research with applied innovation in both academic and industrial settings. Dr. Lionakis has participated in several R&D and EU-funded projects, providing expertise in proposal development, innovation strategy, and technology transfer. His research interests include Graph Drawing, Information Visualization, Exploratory Search, Information Systems, Conceptual Modeling, and Recommender Systems. His work has been published in leading venues such as IEEE Access and Springer Nature, and he has received multiple awards in national and international entrepreneurship and innovation competitions.
