Maria Markaki is Ph.D. student in the Multimedia Informatics Lab at University of Crete. She graduated in 1992 from the Department of Physics at University of Athens, Greece, where she received her first master degree in 1996. She received another master degree at the Department of Computer Science at University of Crete in 2005.
The subject of her PhD thesis is feature extraction from multidimensional representations - such as auditory and modulation spectra - of audio signals for pattern analysis and classification tasks. The thesis is supervised by Yannis Stylianou. This work is funded by the Research Committee, University of Crete and the Institute of Computer Science.
