Postgraduate Studies
The postgraduate studies are conditioned by the Ministerial Decision of OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC
866/26-11-93, copy B, and the provisions of articles 10 up to the 14 N.2083/1992, and consist the follow-up
of courses and seminars, attendance in the inquiring and educational activities of the Department, examinations,
and conduct of completed and original inquiring work.
The Program of Postgraduate Studies grants:
(a) Master of Science degree (M.Sc.), normally in one the following areas, but permissibly in two of them:

(b) Doctoral Diploma (Ph.D)
The objectives of the Graduate Studies Program are:
(a) Specialization in some area(s) of computer science so that the holder of an M.Sc. degree
has augmented professional qualifications in the area(s) of specialization.
(b) Training of scientists/researchers, so that the holder of a Ph.D. is able to contribute
substantially to research, technology and higher education in the domain of Computer Science.
Graduate studies in the Computer Science Department at the University of Crete are carried out
in close cooperation with the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology.
The graduate student's regular attendance and participation in the activities outlined by this guide are mandatory.
